How is Quillette’s Substack different to its website?
We use our Substack page to re-publish all our articles that we publish on our website for any readers who prefer to read our articles on Substack.
If you already have a subscription to our website, you don’t need to buy another subscription to read our articles on Substack. Email our customer service team at members@quillette.com and they can add you as a subscriber to our Substack page without any cost. The reverse is also true. If you’ve already got a subscription to our Substack, we can add you as a subscriber on our website for no extra cost.
What types of Quillette subscriptions can I buy here on Substack?
We have three types of subscriptions available here. We set our subscription prices in US dollars but Substack lets you pay in your native currency. Just be aware that the price will change with the currency.
Our subscriptions that you can buy are:
1. Monthly Membership: this subscription gives you access to all our articles, our podcast, the comments section and first tickets to our Quillette Socials. It costs $10 USD a month.
2. Annual Membership: this subscription gives you access to all our articles, our podcast, the comments section and first tickets to our Quillette Socials. It costs $100 USD a year.
3. Founding Membership: this subscription gives you all the benefits of an Annual Membership plus free tickets to all our Quillette Socials and a free hardcover copy of Panics and Persecutions, our anthology of articles and essays. It costs $250 USD a year. Email our customer service team at members@quillette.com and they can mail you your free copy of Panics and Persecutions.
How do I update my billing information?
1. Go to “Settings” on your Substack account.
2. Find and click on Quillette under “Subscriptions.”
3. Your payment information should then appear. Click on “Edit” next to “Payment method.”
4. Enter your new billing information and click “Save.”
How do I renew my subscription?
You don’t have to. Our subscriptions auto-renew like all other Substack publications’.
How do I stop my subscription from auto-renewing?
You just have to cancel it and you’ll maintain the access the subscription gave you until it runs out.
How do I change my subscription?
1. Go to “Settings” on your Substack account.
2. Find and click on Quillette under “Subscriptions.”
3. Click “Change” and you’ll be taken to a list of our subscriptions where you can pick the subscription you want to change to.
How do I cancel my subscription?
1. Go to “Settings” on your Substack account.
2. Find and click on Quillette under “Subscriptions.”
3. Scroll down to “Account actions” and click the link next to the text “To cancel your paid subscription, click here.”
4. Click “Cancel subscription.”
How do I control what emails I get from Quillette?
1. Go to “Settings” on your Substack account.
2. Find and click on Quillette under “Subscriptions.”
3. Scroll down to “Notifications” and choose what emails you want or receive from Quillette.
What happens if I cancel my subscription before it runs out?
It just won’t auto-renew when it runs out. You will still have the access the subscription gave you until it runs out because you’ve already paid to have the subscription up until the date when the subscription is meant to run out.
How do I gift a subscription to someone else?
1. Click the “Gift a subscription” button in the top right-hand corner of our page.
2. Select what subscription you’d like to gift, enter the recipient’s email address, and the credit card you want to use to pay for the gift subscription. If you want, you can also write a message to the recipient and specify the time you’d like to send the gift subscription to the recipient.
How can I get an invoice or receipt for my subscription?
Email members@quillette.com and ask us to email you one.
